Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

This makes enough ranch for a family and keeps in the fridge for about a week. Way better than the store-bought stuff and you can adjust the garlic and herb levels to your liking.

Ingredients (~1 1/2 cups)

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Small pinch dried thyme
  • Small pinch dried dill

Whisk Everything Together in a Medium Bowl

Add all the ingredients to a medium mixing bowl.

Whisk for at least 30 seconds – the ranch powder tends to clump at first but breaks down as you whisk.

The consistency should be pourable but not thin like milk. If it seems too thick, add buttermilk 1 tbsp at a time.

Store and Let the Flavors Develop

Transfer to an airtight container or jar and refrigerate.

The flavors really come together after sitting for ~30 minutes, but it’s totally fine to use right away.

This keeps in the fridge for about a week – give it a quick stir before using since it separates naturally.
