Stuff You Need

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Salt, to taste

Stuff to Know Before Making

If you can’t find chipotle peppers in adobo, you can use ground chipotle powder instead. One dried chipotle pepper equals about 1/2 teaspoon of powder.

If you want a stronger flavor, simply add a little more and blend again.

Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, chipotle peppers (plus a spoonful of adobo sauce), lime juice, garlic, and a pinch of salt.

Process Until Smooth

Blend until the sauce is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides if needed.

Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust with more lime juice or salt as desired.

Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
