Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas

This is a quick weeknight dinner that's ready in under 30 minutes. The air fryer gets the chicken and vegetables nicely browned without heating up your whole kitchen.

Ingredients

Ingredients (~6 servings)

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 yellow or orange bell pepper cut into strips
  • 1 large yellow or white onion cut into strips
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil or neutral oil
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3/4 tsp cumin
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Cooling/Resting Time: 0 minutes
  • Preheat air fryer to 390F for 3 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together oil, chili powder, salt, smoked paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne.
  • Add chicken strips and toss to coat evenly.
  • Add bell peppers and onion to the bowl and toss with seasoned chicken.
  • Transfer everything to air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook for 15-17 minutes, shaking basket halfway through.
  • Check that chicken reaches 165F internal temperature and vegetables are tender with browned edges.
  • Serve immediately with tortillas, salsa, and desired toppings.

Notes

If air fryer is small, cook in two batches to avoid overcrowding.
